Accessibility at Adam Tax & Assoc.
We want our website to be welcoming and usable for everyone. We aim to follow WCAG-informed practices, including keyboard navigation, readable text, labeled forms, visible focus indicators, and support for reduced-motion preferences. Accessibility is an ongoing effort.
Open the accessibility tools
Select the person-shaped button in the lower-left corner of any page. Use Tab to reach it and Enter or Space to open it. The panel has a clear close button; Escape also closes it and returns focus to the button. While the panel is open, keyboard focus stays inside it. On phones, the panel fills the screen and its settings area scrolls independently.
Visual adjustments
Increase text size from 100% to 160%, adjust line height and letter spacing, choose a readable Arial font, highlight links or headings, strengthen keyboard focus indicators, and choose high contrast, light contrast, or grayscale. High and light contrast are mutually exclusive. Contrast modes keep the portrait visible and place a contrasting surface behind the hero text. Large headings adapt to the available screen width, and heading spacing is adjusted separately from paragraph spacing. Your browser's own zoom controls remain available.
Reading aids and content preferences
Turn on a reading line or reading mask to help follow content. These follow your pointer or touch movement and move to focused items during keyboard navigation. Close the panel to use them on the page. Hide images preserves their layout while removing visible photos and background images. Reduce motion pauses site animations and transitions. The site also respects your device's reduced-motion preference.
Optional support profiles
Vision Support combines larger text, high contrast, and stronger focus indicators. Cognitive Support combines reduced motion with highlighted links and headings. Dyslexia Support combines a readable font with increased line height and letter spacing. Senior Friendly combines larger text, increased line height, light contrast, and highlighted links. These are convenience presets, not medical treatments. Selecting a profile replaces earlier adjustments; you can then change individual settings.
Keyboard and touch access
The Skip to content link appears when focused and moves past the navigation. Menus, accordions, forms, and accessibility controls can be operated with a keyboard. Widget controls use generous touch targets. Reading aids never capture clicks or block links and form fields.
Your preferences and privacy
Accessibility settings are stored locally in this browser using localStorage and are restored on later visits. The widget does not send your preferences to us or load a third-party accessibility service. If browser storage is unavailable, tools still work for the current page. Reset all settings restores defaults, removes saved widget preferences, and clears reading aids.
Limitations
These tools are intended to improve usability. A widget alone does not make a website fully WCAG or ADA compliant and does not replace an accessibility audit or improvements to the underlying content. We have not certified full conformance. Preferences apply to this website; they do not change external booking, portal, or linked services. Some combinations of settings may change page layout.
